Galaxy Girl

Posted by barb on Aug 1, 2005 in Science Musings |

I’ve started a new blog, Galaxy Girl, where I’m writing entries related to my thesis work. I’m not chronicling my thesis work itself, that’s not public, yet, but I’m working through some of the physics of active galaxies, reading and reacting to recent journal articles, and looking closely at the X-ray spectra of AGN. Galaxy Girl is for scientific audiences; though, I will have a series of tutorial-like entriesj giving the basics of AGN, how we study them, and what we see in the X-ray spectra. I anticipate posting there only once or twice a week, since the posts there take a lot more time, effort and thought than many of my posts here. I haven’t decided if I’ll be moving my “Science Musings” posts over there, but I think it will depend on the subject and level of discussion for those posts.

By the way, Andrew wrote a Movable Type plugin to display equations, MT-Math. Check it out if you want to include equations in your blog, too.

Honey, you never cease to amaze me. I love the new blog, and I’ll be sure to read it!
