Our last full day in Minnesota was spent at the Minnesota Renaissance
Festival with Mom, Dad, Dave, Jen and Brock.
Dad's cell phone went off while we were trying to get in the gates,
and this freakish overgrown puppet started harassing him (we pretended
not to know him, of course). |
From the left, Jennifer (Dave's wife), Dave (my brother - he's looking
goofy on purpose...sometimes I'm scared that he's going to be a daddy soon)
and Brock (my nephew; Kevin's son) |
We started the day by watching Tuey (Steve Wilson) - a juggler, balancer
and tight rope walker. (He's also the son of some old friends of
my parents) |
Juggling five rings while balancing on the top rung of the ladder |
Here he balances on a ladder while preparing to shoot nerf arrows into
the crowd... |
...and here he is just about to shoot the nerf arrows (they will be
propelled by the spinning balls). |
Here he's twirling rings on his foot and arm, spinning balls and playing
a couple things in his mouth (waay less impressive in the picture) |
His grand finale - juggling flaming torches, wearing a flaming beanie
while walking across a burning tight rope. |
Later we took in the joust - here are the jousters and their side riders
(the ones who went for the rings between the other jousting activities) |
One jouster preparing for a run |
And the two jousters come together |
|
We also went to the Cats of the World show - |
An ocelot shows off his climbing ability |
 |
Brock threw some throwing stars |
