Titania by John Simmons |
Forest FireBy Barbara Jo Mattson |
Sparks light the leaves of one tree.
Fall's flame has come.
Every branch
caught by the
warmth,
a kaleidoscope.
An ember falls,
Wind spreads the flames to ground
until the grass is alive with color
and the trees are barren.
Rake them.
Contain the fire.
