I heart my job. Really.

I sing this every morning before going in to work:
I hate my job,
I really do,
It’s a stinky job,
I hate my job.
Not exactly catchy, and I think I need to work on the chorus, but it gets my feeling across.
Today I accidentally sang it while I was in my office. And my office-mate was there. Sigh. I’ll be singing it a lot tomorrow — there’s a proposal due, and I’m likely to be in the office for at least 24 hours. Straight.
Honey, can you send me the tune for that? I feel a sing-a-long coming on.
I’ll be thinking happy thoughts for you today. If I knew anything about science, I’d volunteer to help, but in the interest of the integrity of your project, I’ll just step back. 🙂
Been there. I hear ya – it truly blows. Sorry sexy.
So how far are we from having to use our escape plan?
Mushi — not sure. The good news is that I’m done with the task that required the two all-nighers out of me, so maybe I’ll be happier….on the other hand, not too happy that I returned to my thesis, which is slowly sucking the life out of me. Maybe we should price beach-bars.
Life is too short for shitty jobs etc… why not find one you’ll enjoy spending the rest of your life in? I’ve only read 2 pages of yours so sorry if that was completely unacceptable lol
Toni — definitely not unacceptable! And, of course, it’s the right advice.
The good news is that I’m no longer working on that project. I’m sticking with this position until I get my PhD because, well, for one looking for a new job would take too much time from my thesis, but also because my current position will put me in a good place for getting a job doing what will make me happy.
Welcome to my silly life!
